Patria Hägglunds Oy is a subsidiary of the Finnish Patria (50%) and the BAE Systems Hägglunds from Sweden (former name Land Systems Hägglunds). Patria Hägglunds is domiciled in Tampere, Finland. Patria Hägglunds has no production activities of its own.

Patria Hägglunds owns product rights of the AMOS® (Advanced MOrtar System), the new generation 120 mm mortar turret, which has been designed for installation on a wide variety of wheeled and tracked vehicles and also on fast combat boats. AMOS represents the latest know how in mortar systems.

• June 1999 the Finnish Defence Forces ordered the first AMOS mortar system integrated on Pasi XA-203.

• September 2001 the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration, FMV, ordered an Advanced Concept Study for AMOS containing a number of technical investigations to adopt AMOS to the Swedish customer’s demands.

• June 2002 FMV ordered a study concerning the integration of AMOS on a combat boat.

• In January 2003 a Technical Licence was sold to AAI Corporation, Hunt Valley, USA.

• March 2003 Patria Hägglunds received first series order of AMOS system integrated on AMV chassis. The order consists of 24 series vehicles.

• In September 2003 Patria Hägglunds succesfully tested AMOS on a Combat Boat 90. The tests were a part of the contract signed in 2002 between the Swedish FMV (Försvarets materielverk) and Patria Hägglunds for AMOS Navy studies and delivery of an AMOS NAD (Naval Application Demonstrator). AMOS’s naval version was tested for the first time on a Combat 90 boat in Sweden in 1999, in close co-operation with the Swedish Armed Forces. As a consequence of promising test results, Sweden is now the first country seriously considering the possibilities of using AMOS at sea.

• In April 2004 the AMOS mortar system project in Sweden (SSG120) moved ahead into the third stage. This stage is the Product Definition Phase (PDP) and is essentially a study which will pave the way for the next phase for the full Development and Production of the Swedish Prototypes.

In June 2006 Patria Hägglunds received an order of two prototypes of AMOS mortar systems from Sweden.
